A site map is the foundation:

A site map is a simple hierarchy of the pages of your web site. It shows the order of pages and how they are linked together so you can see how visitors will navigate around your site. The site map is also an outline that shows what content you will need to prepare (text, photos, etc.) to fill the pages.

We then create a wire frame:

Now that the function of the site is determined we can begin construction! The wire frame is a static representation of the layout of your web site, like a blue print. It shows where everything will go; your logo, headings, navigation, buttons, photos, text, etc. My old Boy Scout Troop Leader, who was also a carpenter, always said to us "measure twice, cut once." This is something we take to heart here at Eternity Web with each and every project.

Then the Grayscreen Prototype is created:

The Grayscreen Prototype is created from the finalized wire frame. This prototype is functional, allowing you to navigate around the site and see just how it will work when completed. The focus is on function, without the distraction of design details like color, fonts and photos.
